The Tef Canada is a mandatory test as
part of the economic immigration programs that require proof of
language knowledge, at the request of citizenship and
immigration Canada.
The Tef Canada is also an essential proof of the level of
mastery of the French language in order to obtain Canadian
citizenship.
The goal of the Tef is to evaluate the candidate's French skills using a scale of 7 levels that extend from level 0+ (Most basic abilities) to level 6 (Full Mastery).
This scale refers to:
- 6 skill Levels A1 to C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) of the Council of Europe.
- 12 levels of Canadian language skills (CLB)
The Tef Canada evaluates your skills in writing and oral from 4 tests:
- Oral understanding: 40 minutes - 60 questions
- Written understanding: 60 minutes - 50 questions
- Written expression: 60 minutes - 2 subjects to be treated.
- Oral expression: 15 minutes - 2 subjects to be treated.
Students must undergo a placement test to qualify to join our sessions. The minimum requirement for the Tef course is B2 (high). The duration of this course is 20 hours.
