ALC/BC Collaboration

The British Council has been present and developing cultural relations in Lebanon since 1946. With 76 years of history in Lebanon, the British Council has played an impactful role in supporting the development of education, arts and culture here in Lebanon through contacts and exchanges between UK education or arts institutions and organisations.

In education, we were contributors in improving quality of education and curriculum through different programmes in partnership with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). We will continue supporting curriculum reform working closely with the Ministry of Education through our Global Schools Connect programme. We have also worked in non-formal education to develop youth voice and leadership through our global programmes and external partnerships.

In Lebanon, we deliver a range of UK qualifications including IELTS and Cambridge English Assessment, and provide access to UK higher education and professional qualifications.

In view of the concurrent political, economic, security and health crises, we remain strongly committed to fostering the exchange of knowledge and ideas through our work in the education, English language and cultural sectors. We look forward to continue working with all our partners and seek new opportunities, to persist our mission of building mutually beneficial relationships and long term trust between people in the UK and Lebanon.

We are proud to be in partnership with the American Learning Center, who is one of our Authorized British Council IELTS Registration Centre and Official IELTS Examination Preparation Centers.
